// The challenge

A small budget, a fixed date, and no time to waste money on the wrong ad.

// Our approach

If we tested small and moved the money to the ad that sold, $100 could sell real tickets.

// Field notes

Why one ad won

Five ads ran. One sold 23 of the 24 ticket orders. Finding it early is what made $101 go that far.

Count tickets, not reach

Another ad on the same account that spring reached 32,500 people and sold 9 orders. The Easter ad reached far fewer and sold 23.

On a small budget, count what it sells.

Send people straight to the tickets

Across the year, the two short campaigns that pointed straight to the online ticket page did best: 11.9x back at Easter and 7.2x in pumpkin season. The bigger event campaigns returned 1x or less on tracked sales, though some of their tickets were likely bought at the gate, where Meta can’t see them.

What this means for your event

Start small, send people straight to the ticket page, and move the money to whatever is selling.
