A Year of Meta Ads. No Purchase Data.

This med spa had been running Meta Ads for 12 months without sending completed sales back to the platform. We connected its booking system, implemented server-side tracking, and started measuring the purchases and revenue Meta attributed to its ads.

// The problem

The spa was spending money on advertising, but its old booking system wasn't sending completed purchases back to Meta.

// Why it mattered

That made it difficult to measure which campaigns were contributing to actual sales or optimize toward paying customers instead of leads.

// What we did

We Connected Advertising to Actual Sales.

  1. 01// Conversion trackingConnected Boulevard to Meta.

    We implemented server-side purchase tracking to send completed transactions and revenue values back to Meta.

    First purchase sent: July 2026
  2. 02// Campaign strategyOptimized for Purchases, Not Just Leads.

    With purchase events available, we could optimize campaigns toward completed purchases rather than relying entirely on forms, clicks, or other early-stage actions.

    Leads campaign ended: July 2026
  3. 03// Ongoing optimizationUsed Purchase Data to Guide Decisions.

    We evaluated which creatives and campaigns were generating attributed purchases and adjusted the advertising strategy around those results.

44 Purchases Attributed to Meta in 3 Months.

Once purchase tracking was connected, Meta began receiving conversion data from the booking system.

And the monthly results were encouraging.

// View-through attribution

Here's What Made the Tracking So Important.

Of the 44 purchases Meta attributed to its ads, 37 came through one-day view-through attribution.

That means Meta recorded a purchase within a day of someone being shown an ad, without a recorded click.

It doesn't prove those ads caused every purchase. But it does provide additional attribution data that wasn't available through the previous setup.

// Field notes

Your Booking Software Is Part of Your Advertising Strategy.

What we learned connecting a med spa's bookings to its ads.

Why purchase data matters

Meta optimizes toward the result you tell it to find. For a year, the only results this spa’s ads could send back were clicks and form fills. Once Boulevard started sending completed purchases and their value, we could set the campaign to optimize for purchases instead.

That’s good for Meta, and it’s good for the business owner. For the first time, the spa could see which ads were tied to paying clients, not just traffic.

Meta can’t optimize toward a sale it never sees.

The hard part is under the hood

Connecting a booking system to Meta and Google isn’t a switch you flip. It took 9 tools working together, including server-side tracking, the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. When one connection is off, the numbers quietly stop matching. Getting it right usually takes someone with a developer’s background.

Switching wasn’t easy

Boulevard costs the spa more than its old booking system did. Moving everything over was stressful, and it took months for the team to feel fully comfortable with it.

It was worth it. The old system couldn’t send a single purchase back to Meta. Now completed purchases and their value reach the ad account from Boulevard’s server.

The limits we work within

Med spas come with rules most businesses never deal with. Health privacy rules limit what we can track, what we can send to ad platforms, and what we can show in a case study like this one. Meta and Google also restrict how prescription treatments, like injectables, can be advertised.

That means fewer options for ads and for reporting. A big part of the job is finding creative ways to market well inside those lines.

What we’d tell another owner

Before you choose booking software, ask one question: can it send completed purchases back to your ad platforms? If it can’t, a cheaper subscription can cost you more in ad spend you can’t measure.
